VOLUNTEER

There's more to volunteering than just giving up your time. You’ll get to do something new and rewarding, discover hidden talents, make new friends, boost your CV, and make a valuable contribution to our work. It’s also a chance to put the skills and experience you already have to good use by helping others in your local community

We are interested in attracting volunteers for a variety of roles and projects and usually have a variety of opportunities available from fundraisers and event stewards to teaching and administration roles.

Current Projects

We are currently looking for volunteers to assist with our Historical Research and Data Collection. A teaching background would be advantageous but not essential as long as you have a little spare energy and enthusiasm. CRB checks will be necessary for all volunteers who will be working with young people.
We are also looking for elders, historians, etc who would be prepared to do short interviews with us and maybe even attend one of our workshops

Share your Story

We will be very interested to hear people’s stories and family stories. It is the personal memories and stories that tend to have the most impact and influence. We are also looking for elders who would be prepared to do short interviews with us and maybe even attend one of our workshops. We will primarily be looking at 1888 – 1918, but we are aiming to do a little comparative research and see how things have changed in the following themes.
